My growing belly

I keep being told that I need to update our blog, so here's the update:

I am currently 32 weeks pregnant. It seems so crazy to think that I only have 8 weeks (plus or minus) until I get to meet our daughter. I still feel pretty good, but I definitely feel pregnant now. I only have two complaints. First, I have trouble sleeping. Everyone keeps telling me that I need to sleep as much as possible before the baby is born. Unfortunately, I am constantly waking up to go to the bathroom or I'm kept up by an active, growing baby who doesn't understand that it's bed time. Second, I don't have as much energy as I used to because I feel much heavier now. I can tell that the baby is getting bigger and putting on weight. All in all, this has been an easy pregnancy. I am so grateful to be pregnant and to soon be a mother.

Here is my belly progression over the past couple months:

Crafty

I've been quite crafty lately with the help of my sister. She was in town last week and we made dresses, headbands and hair clips for our little girls. Since her daughter has already been born we used her to model the headbands and hair clips. It was fun to be creative and to hang out with my sister and her children.

Cute dresses made using onesies and fabric

Our little girl will probably have to wait a while to wear these unless she's born with a ton of hair

The flowers on the headbands are small, but not small enough for a newborn. She'll have to wait to wear these too.

I've finally perfected my crocheting skills. I decided that since I was going to be a mom I needed to make at least one blankie for our daughter. Both of these have ended up being gifts for my newest niece and a friend's daughter.

My first successful attempt at crocheting. A blanket for my nephew.

Cory's Happy Place

For those of you who know Cory well, you know his favorite place to shop: COSTCO. We are in Costco at least once, normally twice a week. Most of the employees know us and we no longer have to show our membership card when we enter. Costco is seriously Cory's happy place. He loves going to Costco. We have pretty much bought everything we own from Costco. This includes most of our furniture, our home decor, our sheets and towels, clothes, shoes, our electronics and most of our food. We are definitely a Costco family.

Whenever we go anywhere on vacation Cory is able to spot the Costco in that city. It's like he has Costco on his internal radar. If the city has a Costco he will find it and we always have to go inside to see what products they have that "our Costco" does not. I have been to Costco in Hawaii, all throughout California, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho, Utah and Arizona.

We recently experienced going to Costco in another country. While driving around in Vancouver, B.C. Cory found the Costco. Of course we went inside to look around and we ate at the food court.

of Vancouver's Costco, but he humored me)

These giant shopping carts are trouble. Why does Costco make them so big?

The food court
The food court selection was different than what we've seen in the U.S. They offer a smoked meat sandwich, chicken strips, different varieties of pizza (Canadian bacon was one of them), cheeseburgers, french fries and the typical hot dog with "pop." I must admit that I was bummed that they didn't offer polish dogs. I was really in the mood for one, but I settled for a slice of combo pizza, which they call a different name, and it tasted gross. I'm not sure what was different but I think it may have been the pizza sauce.

Beautiful Alaska

In July we went on vacation to Alaska. We cruised from Whitter, Alaska to Vancouver, Canada on a glacier cruise. This cruise has been my favorite vacation that we have been on since we've been married. If you have the opportunity to go to Alaska on a cruise I highly recommend it. We were able to see amazing glaciers and sights that you can only see from sea.

Our New Home

We moved into a 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath townhouse last month. It's nice to have the extra bedroom which we use as an office for now. It will eventually be our office/baby's room when she is born. The townhouse feels bigger because of the two bedrooms, but I miss having more living space like our last apartment. We have a cute backyard and lots of storage space. Our neighbors are nice and quiet. We are fortunate to have friends from our ward who live in the same complex.

My favorite part of our front area is the gorgeous ficus tree

Our little kitchen. The bonus is I finally have a dishwasher!

We are grateful to have a roof over our heads, but we both feel so done with apartment living. It will be nice to, hopefully soon, have a home of our own.

a sign of things to come...

...I hope not!

Our baby already has a pretty feisty personality. We had an ultrasound last week with a different doctor and he wanted to give us a 3D picture of her face. The only problem was that she was looking towards my back. The doctor started to push down on my belly with the wand (I'm not sure if that is what it's called, but you know what I mean) to get her to move. She didn't like that and pushed back with what looked like her hand. Not only could I feel her pushing back back but I could see it in the ultrasound. The doctor tried two more times to push down to make her move her face and she pushed back each time. We did evenually get a side profile of her face.

21 weeks and growing

It's amazing to me how much my belly has grown in the last week. I put on a pair of pants this morning that I wore a week ago and there is no way I could even come close to buttoning them. Luckily, I bought a belly band so I can continue to keep wearing the same work pants a little longer.

We've had two ultrasounds in the last three weeks. Each one has confirmed that she is a girl. Our doctor said that she is measuring well and looks like a healthy baby. We also learned that she is a rather LARGE baby. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised considering I am married to an extremely tall man.

We are still trying to decide on a name for our child. Cory said that "naming her shouldn't take months or even days. It should only a couple of hours." I suppose his thoughts on this subject are incorrect since we haven't yet agreed on a name. For now she is called Baby.
